Sorry Madi and I are bombarding you with posts, but we have very limited internet access and we're trying to take advantage of what we have. Our computers are currently battling for the Wifi signal. Battle Royale.
Yesterday, we went to China Town in Montreal. It was just one subway stop away from our usual stop, and we'd been planning it for days. Unlike the light show, it completely lived up to our expectations. We were starving, so we right at first went to a restaurant called "The Noodle Factory" or so it would appear. It looked a bit dank and sketch on the outside, and it still looked dank and sketch on the inside, but the food was...unbelievable. So delicious. If you follow our instagrams, you know that we've been documenting every single thing we put into our mouth over this trip and it's all extremely beautiful and delicious. Every time we eat, we almost feel guilty like we just went on vacation for our senior project, but then we go to class in the morning and we're reminded of our struggle.
We also ate these hilarious little candies called "dragon beard candies". They're peanuts and chocolate and coconut wrapped up in this white stringy candy that sorta looks like spider web. They were pretty delicious! Once you get past the texture, they're pretty enjoyable.
I'd also like to plug in here that, not in China Town, but Old Montreal (our favorite spot in the entire city), I ate slugs for the first time. If you forget that you're eating a slug, it tastes exactly like mushrooms. Not bad at all. Although I'm kind of confused as to why they don't just eat mushrooms.
This is Dragon Beard Candy, if you're curious: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2426/3553168038_6066449a89.jpg
Ok, Claire, you've just ruined mushrooms for me!
