Giving Back... and of course Story Time!

Finishing up two projects in the early morning is always rewarding but nothing can compare to what I'll be doing in roughly one hour. I mentioned earlier in my blog posts (if you read them carefully) that the office goes down to a soup kitchen and serves lunch for homeless men and women very wednesday. Well, check your calendar because it's Wednesday! I'm going down with a couple other coworkers to serve lunch to many people who don't have a hot meal in front of them every day, 3 times a day. Not only is succeeding in my senior project a great feeling, but giving back to the community that surrounds my work is even better! I can't to see my progress and work at North Coast Media fold out in the future which I've said is a very important thing for us, seniors. But living in the present time, giving back to the community in this way of serving lunch is something these people will be so grateful for and their present time will be changed drastically. Ok, so now it's story time: Office edition part 2.

Mrs. Davis came and visited North Coast Media yesterday and of course I supplied her with the wrong address (i don't know what i was thinking) but it happened. After the miscue and upon her arrival I showed her around the office and introduced her to some co workers and my sponsor. So we chatted for a while talking about the work I've done and how nice it is to be in the office and of course talked a little golf as well she finally departed from NCM. But being here, doesn't mean I can get off clean, one of my coworkers, Rick, walked by me as we were leaving the office and said (in front of Mrs. Davis) "Sawyer, I just got off the phone with your parole officer, I told him you were in a meeting and I took a message for you so you should probably call him back." Well Rick, thank you for the embarrassing moment in time but Mrs. Davis loved it and we chuckled as she headed down the elevator to visit Mike. I guess once you integrate into an office community such as this, people become very comfortable around each other and enjoy each other's company leading to jokes in front of important people!

Until next time and hopefully more story time: office edition!

p.s. there are gun shots and explosions going off constantly thanks to the filming crew of Captain America! don't stop in the sidewalks to look because the police officers get very angry (been there done that)

  1. Thats really awesome about the food drive Sawyer, and I have found the same thing in terms of interactions between co workers at the law firm I have done project at. When you are around people for so long you grow incredibly conformatable with them, which makes the office a very pleasant place to go
