Another Pleasant Surprise

I thought today was going to be I kind of average ordinary day which usually I'm fine with. However I had the pleasure of participating in the second grade pool party in the late morning! We organized a huge game of water basketball and fast football on one side of the pool while the other side had free swimming. I never thought I could have so much fun with seven year olds! Not only were they extremely energetic (surprise surprise) but they were also mature enough to understand and follow the rules of the game and actually get competitive which made them more fun to play with and more fun to watch. Unfortunately after a long, hard fought, battle team Simpson lost 6 to 10.

The rest of the day consisted of two more classes: one kindergarten and one 6th grade.  In the kindergarten class I tired myself out pushing the kids along and giving them rides on the scooters so by the time I got to the 6th grade pool party I was beat; yet somehow the 6th graders still managed to drag me into a game of water basketball and this time my team won! Woo! It was over all an unexpectedly fun day.

  1. Sounds like you're dealing with a really great group of kids, Micah! It's nice that you can go into your project and have a better day than you expected to have, I think that's what projects should be all about. I'm betting you're going to be sad to leave on your last day, and the kids you're working with will be sad to see you go!

  2. That sounds really awesome Micah! You definitely seem like the type of person who would love working with kids, as well as having the little kids like you. I am sure you are bittersweet about project ending
